The Way We Work: A Conversation with Dan Boone on Vocation and Sabbath-keeping

About The Table:

The Table Magazine is a fellowship of Wesleyan-Holiness Christians in the United States and Canada who seek to understand and live out an authentic maturing faith that makes a positive difference in their homes, neighborhoods, and churches.

Developed specifically for congregants of the Church of the Nazarene, The Table is focused toward helping anyone who desires to have a closer relationship with God. The New Testament passage, Acts 2:42, which portrays the community of the first Christians, serves as the standard for The Table: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (NRSV).

God is alive and working inside and outside the Church’s walls. We seek to encourage those who thoughtfully and prayerfully seek to live out a common faith, join in a common mission, nourished by a common meal, to joyfully worship, serve, and share in the healing, empowering grace of the risen Christ.

Why The Table?

Sadly, too many people have found the American church to be a stumbling block rather than a stepping stone to authentic faith. Much of American Christianity has lost sight of the real goal of the Christian life, which is to grow in maturity and love for God and others. The mission statement of the Church of the Nazarene “to make Christlike disciples in the nations,” provides direction for the thrust of The Table as we share examples of people and congregations who model authentic discipleship.

Who can be at The Table?

If you have a story of hope, healing, reconciliation, or church renewal, The Table would like to hear from you. We can’t accommodate every story, but we will sincerely consider every idea submitted, giving preference to those that best illustrate what living the Christian faith is all about. By the way, you don’t have to write the story. Just contact us with key details and we can do the rest.

What The Table Offers:

In addition to a print magazine, which will be published three times a year, The Table will also provide video stories and podcasts to help demonstrate discipleship in action. An enewsletter that provides helpful content between print issues will also be available. Sign up for our enewsletter, so you can keep up with who’s at The Table.

How to get The Table:

At this time, print copies of The Table are only available to Nazarene clergy. Anyone else can subscribe to The Table in following manner that best fits your needs: iPad, PC-Android tablet, or Kindle. And every subscription includes access to magazine content and downloads at the website.

To get helpful content in your inbox bi-monthly, sign up for our newsletter, At The Table. (We won’t share your email address with anyone else.)
